II. A practical application (vss. 2-9)
III. A parable (vss. 10-14)
IV. The “Meat” (vss. 15-20)
V. Another parable (vss. 21-35)
The path of the bitter root
The root- unchecked and undealt with
Unforgiveness- unwilling to let it go
Resentment- keeping a record of wrongs
Retaliation- the need to get even
Anger, hatred, violence, death- a physical manifestation
How to practically make this a reality
1. Walk out Micah 6:8
2. See the worth of all men through he eyes of God (Matt. 18:14)
3. Walk out Matt. 5:43, 44
4. Walk out Psalm 34:14
5. Walk out Matt. 7:1-5
6. Walk out 1 Cor. 13:7
7. Seek to become unoffendable (Matt. 24:10-12)
8. Know that after we’ve done all we can do, it may still not become
resolved
